Thomas J. Aikens

Thomas J. “Tom” Aikens, 88, of Arnold, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026, in his home. He was born March 11, 1937, in Lower Burrell to the late Charles and Josephine Ewing Aikens. Tom was the owner and operator of Tom’s Auto Upholstery in Arnold. He was a US Navy Veteran, who served on the USS Hornet CV12, achieving the rank of AB3. Tom attended the Allegheny Valley Church of God, New Kensington, and was a member of the previous Christian Assembly in Arnold. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. (Bossio) Aikens; and sister, Marie Griffin. Tom is survived by his children, Cheryl (John) Miller, Bob (Companion, Tracy) Johnson, Lori (Charlie) Brown and Janice (Cip) Ambriz; sister, Betty French; brother, David (Wanda) Aikens; grandchildren, Kaylee Rose (Craig) Eyth, Jacob Thomas Roebuck, Lisa (Bill) Welch, Charles Phillip Jr., Cruz and Danny Ambriz; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home, 1125 Kenneth Ave. New Kensington, 724-337-3325. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in the funeral home with Pastor Carmen Butler officiating.
