Theodore 'Ted' Reed Meixelsberger, 88, of Lower Burrell, died Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 9, 1928, in Arnold, son of Frank and Margaret Stearman Meixelsberger. He was a graduate of Arnold High. He was employed by PPG in Creighton as a template maker for 35 years before retiring in 1984. Ted enjoyed yard work and sports, especially the Penguins. He was a veteran of the Navy and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church, Lower Burrell. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy (in infancy); and sisters, Margaret Lange and Mary Ann Munshower. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Reichert Meixelsberger, of Lower Burrell; two sons, Ted (Lori) Meixelsberger, of Upper Burrell, and Dave Meixelsberger, of Lower Burrell; and four grandchildren, Shasta (Jack), Bassett, Kayla Meixelberger, Arabelle Pollick and Alyssa (Elwyn) Stock. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2017, in the JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, A SERVICE ORIENTED FUNERAL HOME, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, in the funeral home with Father Gregorio Sol De Villa Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
