Selma Hardy, 90, of Lower Burrell, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, in her home, surrounded by love. She was born Dec. 2, 1926, in New Kensington, daughter of the late Salim and Azeezy Shamey Nemy. She was a graduate of Ken-Hi and Columbia School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, where she received a nursing degree as an RN. She worked at Citizens General Hospital, retiring after more than 40 years. She enjoyed sewing, gambling, Steeler Sundays, playing cards and a good shopping day, but there was nothing she loved more than spending time with family. She was a member of St. George Orthodox Church, New Kensington, where she was also a member of Myrrh Bearing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, James 'Juby' Hardy; and siblings, Alfred and Edna Nemy. She is survived by her children, Tammy (Sonny) Wojcik, Lisa (Terry) Huffman, Jamie (Amir) Youssefi and Kimberly Hardy; brother, Phil (Sally) Nemy; grandchildren, Kara (Leif), Kristen (Robert), Carter, Terryn, Mason and Taylor; and great-grandchildren, Sophia, Grace and John. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at St. George Orthodox Church, 1150 Leishman Ave., New Kensington. Trisagion prayers will be at 11:30 a.m., followed at noon by a funeral service, with Father Meletios Zafaran officiating. Private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Selma to St. George Orthodox Church or Good Samaritan Hospice. Arrangements were entrusted to the JOSEPH J.
