IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert J.
Sprumont
November 15, 1969 – January 27, 2024
Robert J. "Bob" "Bud" Sprumont, 54, of Allegheny Township, passed away, Saturday, January 27, 2024, in his home, after a short fight with GBM brain tumor. He was born November 15, 1969, to Connie (Bentlejewski) and the late Robert E. Sprumont of New Kensington. Bob was a 1988 graduate of Valley High School and a 1992 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown, with a BS in Electrical Engineering Technology. He earned his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, Main Campus in 2002. Bob started his career at Powerex, Youngwood and from 1996 to present, worked at Seimens (Robicon), Upper Burrell, "close to home and parking is still free". In 1996, he married the love of his life and best friend, Jenel, and together they had a wonderful, blessed life with their son, Daniel. Family was Bob's number one priority; he was always there when anyone needed him. Bob, alongside his dad, was a 36-year volunteer fireman with New Kensington VFD Engine #3. Over the years, he held many positions with the Fire Department, and before his back injury, was an interior firefighter. Bob also held positions on the Board of the New Kensington Ambulance. He was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, New Kensington. Bob was a jack of all trades, but two of his passions were woodworking, a trade he learned from his grandpap, John Bentlejewski, and fishing, especially for steelhead both in PA and NY. He was a member of the Yellow Creek Trout Club and enjoyed many days fishing with his son, Daniel, and friends. In 2017, Bob and Jenel realized their dream of purchasing a cottage in New York along Lake Erie so Bob could fish steelhead and Jenel could walk the beach. This was only after they spent many wonderful years camping with the best "camping crew ever". They got to enjoy six wonderful years experiencing so many wonderful memories with family and friends at the cottage; it was truly their happy place. Bob is survived by his wife of 28 years (together 35 years), Jenel (Hooks); his best buddy, son, Daniel; his devoted mother, Connie; mother-in-law, Clarice (late Emerson) Hooks; sister and brother-in-law, Weslyn and Tuigg Mcmullin; his uncle, Glenn (Marion) Sprumont, of VA; his aunt, Phyllis (late Barry) Brickel, of Irwin; and numerous cousins. He is also survived by many friends, who became family and are truly angels in disguise. And last, but most certainly not least, his devoted dog, Hershey. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert E., in December 2021; maternal grandparents, John & Nellie Bentlejewski; paternal grandparents, Armond & Mary Sprumont; father-in-law, Emerson Hooks; and aunts, Mary Lou (late Joe) Redmond and Arlene (late Al) Riddick; and his dog, Abby, who was his side kick for 13 years. Jenel, Daniel and Connie would like to thank Monarch Hospice, especially Lisa and Chrissy, for the excellent care Bob received, and our family and friends who were just amazing and so supportive. Bob was truly blessed that his family and dear friends were all there for him, Jenel, Daniel and his mom during this past year We love you, Fisherman, tight lines.
