Richard A. Smith, 78, of New Kensington, passed away Oct. 31, 2021, in Canterbury Place. He was born Sept. 14, 1943, in Pittsburgh, to the late Richard L. & Olive Smith. Richard was a 20-year US Army veteran, serving in Vietnam and was employed as a social worker for Butler County Assistance office. He was an amazing mand who loved his family more than anything. Richard was a loving, kind man with a great sense of humor. He was a strong man, beating cancer and surviving Vietnam. We will miss him. He attended Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa V. Smith; and brother, Greg Smith. Richard is survived by his wife, Jeanne Vollink Smith; children, Sean, Brandon, Angelina, and Andrea Smith; sister, Mary Spekis; and 9 grandchildren.
