Phillip E. "Flip" Swartzlander, 64, of New Kensington, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023, in his home. He was born August 27, 1958, in New Kensington, to the late Phillip S. and Dolores Nassar Swartzlander. Flip was a 1976 graduate from Valley High School. He worked for Nick Chevrolet as the parts manager for many years. Flip was a member of the Hunter's and Fishermen's Club (the H & F Club) and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #533, both of New Kensington, and the Moose Lodge #53 and the American Legion Post #868, both of Lower Burrell. He enjoyed attending Friday nights at Lernerville Speedway, singing karaoke, and spending time with his granddaughters. Flip is survived by his children, Phil (Katie) Swartzlander and Tyler Swartzlander; granddaughters, Allison Swartzlander, Taliya Black, and Lainey Swartzlander; sister, Del Ann Haslett; mother of his children, Judy Queck; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 PM, on Thursday, March 23, 2023, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home 1125 Kenneth Ave. New Kensington, 724-337-3325. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 24, 2023, in the funeral home, with Reverend Dean Ward officiating. Private burial will be in Union Cemetery, Arnold.
