Obituary

Mary L. "Lee" Salati, 80, of New Kensington, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born October 31, 1943, in New Kensington, to the late John W. and Helen Ramsey Pyle. Mary Lee was a graduate of Springdale high School and lived there for 24 years before moving to New Kensington in 1968, when she married her husband of 42 years, the late Anthony Salati, who passed away on June 16, 2007. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, partially due to that being her birthday. Mary Lee was an avid cat lover and enjoyed taking trips to Ocean City. She also worked at Community Market, Lower Burrell, for several years till her retirement. Mary Lee is survived by her son, John Salati; daughter, Judith Salati; sister, Judy Marcy; grandson, Nikolaos Salati; 2 great grandsons, Lukas and Vincent Salati; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 PM, on Thursday, January 11, 2024, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 8:00 PM, in the funeral home with Reverend Clint Phillips officiating.
