Mary Louise (Sprumont) Redmond, who was known by most as Mary Lou, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, at the age of 90. She was born July 14, 1932, to the late Armand and Mary Louise Thiry Sprumont in New Kensington. Mary Lou attended St. Joseph Parochial School and graduated from New Kensington High School. After high school, she worked for Pittsburgh Paints, Creighton, in the accounting department. Mary Lou fell in love with and married the boy across the alley on April 4, 1959. She and Joe moved to Syracuse, N.Y., where she worked for General Electric and Dey Brothers Department Store. Mary Lou and Joe enjoyed traveling by camper across the United States and Alaska. She enjoyed cooking for the family and grocery shopping with her coupons. Mary Lou was an active member of Our Lady of Peace Church, Lakeland, N.Y., and later at Holy Family Church, Fairmont, N.Y. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Robert Redmond; son, Glenn Michael; and brother, Robert Sprumont. Mary Lou was extremely proud of her children: son, Mark (wife, Valeska) Redmond, and daughter, Karen (partner, Robert Giusti) Redmond; three grandchildren, Robert Bellucci, Ryan Bellucci and Siboney Redmond, who were the shining stars of her life; brother, Glen (Marion) Sprumont; sister-in-law, Connie Sprumont; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
