Ledora Frances "Lee" Guida, 91, of New Kensington, went on to meet her Savior Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at Belair Nursing Home, Lower Burrell. Lee was born May 8, 1932, in New Kensington, to Vito and Mary D'Angelo Guida. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Lt. Col. Dominic Guida and Charles Guida; sisters, Theresa Smith and Anna Mae Guida; and nephews, Victor Guida and Gregory Smith. She is survived by a sister, Patricia (George Sr.) Pecoraro; cousin, Delbert Darr, of Reynoldsville; nephews, Dominic Guida, Christopher Guida, George Pecoraro Jr., Paul (Robin Rodbro) Pecoraro and Christopher (Dr. Anna Casu) Pecoraro; nieces, Jeanne D'Amico, Marian Mullins, Michelle Guida, Mary Margaret Smith Spekis, Sarah (Robert) Mrozek and Teresa (Richard) O'Connor; cousins, Marietta Marino Montaperto, of California, Norma Marino and Loretta (George) Gatto; many great-nieces and great-nephews; two great-great-nieces; and a great-great-nephew. She was a member of Mt. St. Peter Church and the Ezekiel 37 Prayer Community, both in New Kensington, and a beloved aunt who enjoyed interacting with her nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A 1950 graduate of New Kensington High School, Lee attended Yuba College, Marysville, Calif., earned a degree in social sciences from Slippery Rock University and furthered her education at University of Pittsburgh GSPIA with a public administration degree. Lee worked for NASO, Philadelphia, Pa., then for Westmoreland County Manpower as a grant writer. Her love for antiques and collectibles prompted her to open her collectibles shop in New Kensington. She had a keen interest in county and local politics, having been elected as a Westmoreland County committee woman. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, in the JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. Prayers of transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Mt. St. Peter Church, New Kensington.
