Lawrence W. Cernicky, 91, of Arnold, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, in Concordia Health Care, Cabot. Born Nov. 1, 1929, in Arnold, he was the son of the late Joseph and Amelia (Tekely) Cernicky. Larry was a production coordinator at the former Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Cheswick before retiring in 1992. He was a veteran of the Army during the Korean War and enjoyed fishing and golfing. Larry was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Hallie Cernicky; brothers, Joseph, Melvin, Edward, David and Sal Cernicky; and two sisters, Amelia Cernicky and Clara Slomainy. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth (Kengor) Cernicky; children, Gary (Liz) Cernicky, Andrew J. (Stacey) Cernicky, Lawrence E. (Dyana) Cernicky and Laura (David) Fields; and grandchildren, Christopher, Kyle, Andrew W., Caitlin, Nicholas, Ashley, Ryan, Ethan, Abigail, Ava, Alaina and Amanda. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 1125 Leishman Ave., New Kensington.
