IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen A.
Novakoski
July 4, 1943 – August 2, 2025
Kathleen A. "Kathy" Varesco Novakoski, 82, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Born in Arnold, she was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Theresa Roll Varesco. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Collette Natik and Elaine Camp. Kathy touched many people's lives in the most positive way, but her most profound role was that of devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her boundless love will forever live on in her husband of 56 years, John Novakoski; their children, Sharon (Robert) Alberta and Jeffrey (Anne) Novakoski; beloved grandchildren, Abigail, Joshua and Emily; her brother, Robert (Ellen) Varesco and numerous extended family and friends. They have been blessed by Kathy's nurturing, guidance and unconditional love. Her legacy will continue to live on through her children and grandchildren. Kathy's greatest joy was her family, and she dedicated her life to taking care of them. She was present for every aspect of their lives and was always her children's biggest supporter. Kathy's warmth filled any room she entered. Her dedication to her family was guided by her unwavering faith. Kathy had the ability to find the good in everything. Her compassion and kindness was evident in everything she did, always putting others before herself. Kathy's caring personality allowed her to impact numerous young lives throughout her career. After staying home with her children when they were young, she spent 25 years as a Teacher Aide/Group Supervisor working with preschool aged children. Kathy found helping young children develop a strong early educational foundation very fulfilling. As a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church, she was active in her parish and was a member of The Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Kathy was an avid reader and football fan. She is now in the loving embrace of God, reunited with those who went before her. The love Kathy gave us remains a beautiful reminder of her presence in our lives. Family and friends will be received from 11 to 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 7, 2025, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. Prayers of transfer will be held at 1:00 PM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 1:30 PM at St. Joseph Church, New Kensington. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Kathy to St. Joseph Church. www.cardarofuneralhome.com
