Josephine (Guz) Dini, originally of New Kensington, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Pine Meadows Post-Acute in Lexington, Ky. She was born Dec. 25, 1923, in the Parnassus section of New Kensington, to the late Francis and Kathryn Jamniak Guz. She lived in New Kensington most of her life. She attended New Kensington schools and was a graduate of Ken Hi class of 1942. For 12 years, she was employed as an operator and supervisor for the Bell Telephone Company. Also, she was employed for the intermediate unit in the New Kensington and Lower Burrell School District. She also served in the county courthouse in Greensburg for several years .She was a member of the CD of A (Catholic Daughters of America) and Polish Women's Alliance of Group No. 475 for many years. She was the mother of two sons, David (Anna Pawlowski) Dini, of Redwood City, Calif., and Vincent (Mandy) Dini, of Lexington, Ky. She also was the grandmother to four grandchildren, Dr. Alina Dini and her husband, Dr. Andrew Simpson, of Australia, Aleksander Dini, of Redwood City, Aaron Dini, of Charleston, W. Va., and Andrew Dini, of Dallas, Texas. She was also the great-grandmother of Aurelia Simpson, of Australia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aldo Dini, in 1982; two brothers, Joseph and Edward Guz; and three sisters, Sophia Pomykala, Genevieve Moreno and Virginia Krzewinski. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021, in the JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. Prayers of transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mt. St. Peter Church, New Kensington. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church, 100 Freeport Road, New Kensington, PA 15068.
