Crytzer
August 1, 1933 – November 20, 2022
Joseph P. Crytzer, 89, of Arnold, passed away Sunday November 20, 2022, at Concordia, Cabot, where he had been living in personal care for the last three years. He was born August 1, 1933, in Arnold to the late George and Salome Wetter Crytzer. Joe was the quintessential A-K Valley man. He graduated from Arnold High School in 1951. Following two years of stateside service in the Army, Joe returned to Arnold where he married, raised a family, and served the community as a member of the New Kensington-Arnold School District, including terms as president. He also helped coach his two sons throughout their Little League Baseball years. In addition, Joe was a long-time parishioner and usher at St. Joseph Church in New Kensington, where he also served on the Church Finance Committee. He was a long-time member of Knights of Columbus, Council # 1381. Joe was a proud graduate of Duquesne University, where he earned a Business Degree. His career included working at PPG, Gulf Research, J&L Steel Corp, Colt Industries, Crucible Steel, and Baylor Trucking. He retired in 2006. Joe greatly enjoyed watching sports in person and on TV, and was a voracious reader, particularly of newspapers. He also was a doting grandfather to his three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, who passed in 2017. Joe is survived by his children, Kevin (Tammy) Crytzer, of Parsippany, NJ, Robert (Christine) Crytzer, of Robinson Township, and Kathleen (Patrick) Boario, of Allegheny Township; grandchildren, Chelsea, Justin, and Kirsten Crytzer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and Friends will be received from 2-6 PM on Friday, November 25,2022, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral home, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-335-3325. The Knights of Columbus Council 1381 will conduct a service at 3 PM, from the funeral home. Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, November 26,2022, in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St Joseph Church, New Kensington.
