Joan Langer, 84, of New Kensington, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024. She was born Aug. 21, 1939, in New Kensington, to the late Adam and Julia Wanowicz Jaracz. Joan loved spending time with her family, including her great-grandchildren and her best friend, Milo, her dog. She attended St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, where her husband attended. Joan was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, New Kensington, and the Christian Mothers Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Langer; infant daughter, Joyce Lynn; and two sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Bossio and Bernice Misczak. Joan is survived by her children, Kimberly (William) Horner, Bernard J. Langer, Shawn Langer and Brian (Chastity) Langer; sister, Betty Foryt; grandchildren, Ariel, Courtney, Austin, Madison and Brian Jr.; great-grandchildren, Asher, Braelynn and Carson; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, in the JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. Prayers of Transfer will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church.
