James Elwood Youst, 74, of Arnold, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, in Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Sept. 21, 1942, in Star City, W. Va., son of the late Elwood and Sarah Doris Clark Youst. He was employed by Unifirst, New Kensington, and also did landscaping jobs. James enjoyed working on his mowers, but loved spending time with his family. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sally A. Huybrecht Youst; and son, Gerald Pavshak Sr. He is survived by his daughters, Emily (Dion Garland) Youst, and Jo Ellen (Arthur Crissman) Youst; sons, James Pavshak and Ronald (Debra) Pavshak; siblings, Patty Ann Presock, Naomi French, Rose Maskil, Malvin Clark, Dorothy (Michael) Middleby and Doris (Harry) Kline; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, in the JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. A memorial service will be held at noon immediately following the visitation in the funeral home with the Rev. Carmen Butler officiating. Burial will be private.
