Hugo Morelli, 92, of Florida, formerly of New Kensington, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, in Select at Shands Hospital, Florida. He was born May 24, 1929, in New Kensington to the late Rocco & Maria Pesce Morelli. Hugo was the co-owner of Peerless Cleaners in New Kensington till his retirement in 2010. He served as the chairman of New Kensington Parking Authority, was the elected committee man for the 5th ward and was on the Human Relations Board in the 70's and late 80's. Hugo was a disabled US Army Veteran, who served during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of D.A.V. and also the Sons of Italy in New Kensington, where he served as an officer and President for over 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ann Naccarato, Joseph Morelli, and Gloria Fasano.
Hugo is survived by his wife, Mary Sis Morelli, of Florida; son, Rocco (Christine) Morelli, of Florida; granddaughter, Racquel Morelli, of West Deer Twp.; great grandchildren, John "Johnny" and Natalia Lisotto, both of West Deer Twp.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 5, 2021, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home, 1125 Kenneth Ave. New Kensington, 724-337-3325. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 6, 2021, in the funeral home with Hugo's son, Reverend Rocco Morelli officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. The family would like to give a big thank you to family and caregivers for all their love, compassion and caring at Hugo's time of need.
