Glenn F. "Dutch" Emmert, 86, passed away Friday, December. 12, 2025, in Wicomico Nursing Home, Salisbury, MD. A long-term resident of New Kensington, Glenn was born on November 14, 1939, to Fidelis and Alice (Johnson) Emmert. As a graduate of New Kensington High, Class of 1957, Dutch joined the Army and was discharged in 1964. He worked at PPG Industries, Springdale as a Chemist and retired in 2000. He married his high school sweetheart, Enid (Leebel). Dutch was an avid fisherman and outdoors man, was involved in his kid's youth sports team. After retirement, he joined a flyfishing club, loved watching hockey and his Steeler teams. While able, Dutch and Enid liked traveling to see their kids and grandkids, along with other family members.After three children and 60 years of marriage, Dutch is survived by his children, Cheryl, David (Tracie) and Diane (Joe Kraus); extended family, Eddie, Lance, Paul, Stacy, and Charity Kraus; grandfather "Pap" to Parker, Zachary and Jacob; great Pap to Westyn; was Pseudo Pap to Ava, Ivy, Samantha, Lorin, Henry, Evan, Greg and Riley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.During his last few months, Dutch lived at a nursing home where he found simple joys in watching the birds at the feeders outside his window and taking peaceful strolls through the garden.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Dutch to help bring bird feeders and spring flowers to the residents who shared that space with him:
