IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gary Lee
Sprague
January 2, 1961 – October 6, 2025
Gary Lee Sprague Jr., 64, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, in Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born January 2, 1961, in Natrona Heights, to the late Gary and Rachel Flick Sprague Sr. Gary lived a life marked by service, craftmanship, creativity and deep devotion to family. He proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Puget Sound from August of 1980 to February 1983 as a Seamanship specialist. A skilled mechanic by trade, Gary worked at Wally's Garage, Tarentum, and the Wexford Wright Automotive Group before launching his own business, Pitstop Station in New Kensington. Later in life, after his wife, Brenda Sprague, was diagnosed (and later passed) with cancer, Gary discovered his true passion…Photography. This calling led him to another endeavor, the New Kensington Camera Club. Together with Don Henderson, the club thrived. All this led to Gary's final job as a photographer aboard the Gateway Clipper Fleet in Pittsburgh. There, he captured joyful moments and scenic memories. Gary was a proud motorcycle enthusiast who never missed the annual Blessing of the Bikes with the Apollo Eagles Riders. He was a familiar face at Rock for Life events, always supporting causes close to his heart. Above all, Gary cherished time with his family. He is survived by his children, Mindy (Derrik) Cameron, of West Virginia, Terisa (Rich) Cameron, of Brookville, and Richard (Samantha) Cameron Sprague, of Rochester, Indiana; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Gary was the last of his generation, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience and creativity. He will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his loving wife, Brenda Sprague; siblings, Dale, Sueanne, Melissa, James and Charles Sprague; grandson, Orville Crawford III; and great granddaughter, Rosie E. Cameron. A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in the banquet room at Clyde and Patti's Bar, 901 Freeport Rd. Cheswick.
