Florence Mae Stirland, 96, of New Kensington, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries Nursing Home, Cabot. She was born October 31, 1928, in New Kensington, to the late Roy Scott and Estella Thompson Birch. Florence was employed for Murphy's on 5th Ave for 31 ½ years and Kmart for 27 ½ years, both in New Kensington. She enjoyed camping, flower gardening and shopping. Florence was a member of Lower Burrell Baptist Church and the Alle-Kiski Valley Senior Citizens Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Arthur Stirland; sister, Dorothy Birch; and brother, Charles Roy Birch. Florence is survived by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 11 to 12 noon on Thursday, February 27, 2025, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-2235. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 12 noon in the funeral home with her Pastor, Reverend James Clements officiating.
