Evangeline "Vange" Arabia, 90, of Lower Burrell, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, in UPMC St. Margaret Hospital. She was born January 3, 1933, in New Kensington, to the late John M. and Sevasti "Eva" Scoulos Phillips. Vange was a 1950 graduate of Ken-High. After graduation, she went to work for Alcoa in the Wear-Ever division. Then she worked for Citizens General Hospital, New Kensington, and then Westinghouse Inc., Cheswick, as an executive secretary in both jobs. She enjoyed music and dancing and was an avid pianist in her younger years. People would sit outside her house for hours and listen to her play classical music. Vange was a member of the previous Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, New Kensington, where, in her younger years, was the organist. She loved her family and devoted her life to them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Francis Paul Arabia; and granddaughter, Kristy Marie Barbiaux. Vange is survived by her children, Jen-Eva (Frank) Sack, Francine Arabia, Fran (Becca) Arabia, and Jeanine Arabia; sisters, Patricia (Jack) Reimer, Deanna Gatto, and Lisa Phillips; brother, Michael (Sandy) Phillips; grandchildren, Wesley, Kelsey, Alana, Charissa, Nathan, Karli, Ashley, Nicole & Brooke; great grandchildren, Dino, Angelo and Neveah; aunt, Harriet Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7:00 PM on Friday, July 28, 2023, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325.
