Elizabeth I. (Dick) McCune 100, formerly of New Kensington died Friday, February 23, 2024, at Platinum Ridge Center in Brackenridge. She was born on March 1, 1923, in Clymer, PA, to the late Homer and Grace Dick. Elizabeth worked in the office of a Westinghouse War Plant in Philadelphia during WWII and the office of a coal mine in Clymer until she married in 1948. She then moved to Vandergrift to raise a family. She was an active member of the Franklin Avenue Church of God, where she was the pianist and also a teacher until 2003 when she moved to New Kensington to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Larry) Simback; two sons, Daniel (Nancee) McCune, of Mt Lebanon and Samuel (Patricia) McCune, of Anderson, Ind; son-in-law, Michael (Michelle) Herold, of North Huntington; her sister, Janet Fisher, of Indianapolis, Ind; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Frank; her daughter, Joyce Herold; three sisters and a brother.

Family and friends will be received from 10 to 12 Noon, on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 12 Noon in the funeral home with Reverend Lee Rupert officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
