IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward L.
Depaoli
October 2, 1937 – March 25, 2024
Edward L. "Ed" DePaoli, 86, of North Apollo, passed away peacefully on March 25th, 2024, in AHN Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. In true form to his resilient character, Ed fought a brief illness with everything he had right up until the very end, all while telling jokes and sharing stories with his family and the dedicated caregivers in the PCU Unit at Forbes, all of whom remained by his side in his final weeks.
Born October 2nd, 1937, in Leechburg, he was the eldest son of the late Greno J. and Irene E. (Kiro) DePaoli. Ed was also preceded in death by his brother, Arthur J. DePaoli, with whom he shared a special bond.
Ed was a graduate of Leechburg High School class of 1955. After high school, Ed went on to proudly serve our country in the United States Army. Upon his return home from his military service, Ed thoroughly enjoyed every day of his 36-year career at Westinghouse Electric Company as a Spectroscopist in the Chemistry Department before his retirement in 2003.
Ed was an intelligent man who celebrated his love for life with a good drink, a great meal, many fabulous vacations with friends and family, or just simply taking a drive with his wife by his side. He was an exceptional storyteller, and he remembered every detail of everything he experienced in his long life. Ed loved to share stories of his many great life experiences. Ed had a passion for cars, Pittsburgh Sports Teams and just relaxing at his home in which he shared by his surviving wife, Sandra L. (Miller) DePaoli. The last 10 years were spent by Ed as the primary caregiver for his wife Sandy, who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease.
Ed is also survived by his three children, David E. (Tammi DeOrio) DePaoli of Pittsburgh, Joel R. DePaoli of Pittsburgh, and Regina (Bill) Seidel of Lower Burrell. Ed was most proud of his three surviving grandchildren, Abigail G. Seidel, Bella M. Seidel, and Camden W. Seidel all of Lower Burrell. Ed is also survived by beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family members with whom he shared many great times throughout the years.
