Dennis K. White, 78, of New Kensington, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 9, 1943, in Vandergrift, to the late Russell and Evelyn Horrell White. Dennis retired from the Army as a Sergeant First Class after serving more than 20 years, including a tour in Vietnam, receiving the Purple Heart among many other medals and citations. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. He also enjoyed bowling and traveling out West. Dennis was a member of Burrell Community Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Rosa; and his brother, Robert White. Dennis is survived by his children, Norbert (Carrie) White, Evelin V. (Peter) Krahe, Denise R. Adamski and Gunther (Gudrun) Reidl; grandchildren, Daniel, Grant Robert, Andrea, Matthew, Daniela, Sean and Peter Jr.; sister, Jean Wood; brothers, Edward (Gloria) White, Larry (Dorothy) White, Thomas (Terry) Bauman and Charles (Nancy) Bauman; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2021, at the JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, 1125 Kenneth Ave., 724-337-3325. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Lecocq officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, with full military honors conducted by the Vandergrift Honor Guard.
