David is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cathy Copelin Ewing; children, Bobbi Jo Swanger, Mary (Chris) Errett and David Ewing Jr.; brothers, Clair Ewing and Edward Ewing; and grandchildren, Olivia and Michael Swanger, Cooper Errett, and Lilly and Nathan Ewing.
