David H. Akins, 74, of Gilpin, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021. He was born October 20, 1947, in Gilpin, to the late Samuel R. & Luella Bracken Akins. David was a US Navy veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion, Schenley. David is survived by his siblings, Lanny and Sam Akins, and Anna (Larry) Clepper; and his daughters, Amy and Alba. As per David's wishes, all services were private and under the care of the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home, New Kensington.
