Daniel Paul Kotlar

Daniel P. “Dan” Kotlar, 73, of Gilpin Township, passed away on April 29, 2026. He was born on February 8, 1953, in Smithton to the late William and Mary Steinbaugh Kotlar. Dan was a truck driver, but his real passion was feeding people his homemade BBQ from his food truck. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Loretta Indof and Patricia Vargo. Dan is survived by his daughters, Stacey (David) Williams, of Upper Burrell, Danielle (Richard) Lang, of Plum, and Casandra Kotlar, of Brackenridge; his grandchildren, Brianna, David & Dayne Williams, Makenzie & Darryn Lang, and Daniel and Sophia Flatt; his great-grandchildren, Roman and Hudson Williams, his sister, Kathy (Ivan) Omasta; and his brother, William Kotlar. A graveside service will be held at St. Timothy’s Cemetery in Smithton, on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Noon. Arrangements are entrusted to the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home. www.cardarofuneralhome.com
