Carl David "Dave" Spangler, 86, of New Kensington, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022, in his home. He was born May 4, 1935, in Pittsburgh, to the late Wallace & Mae Halberg Spangler. Dave was retired as a Mill Wright for Local Union # 443. He was a proud Marine who served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jon; and sister Hilda. Dave is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria Cowfer Spangler; daughters, Maxine Spangler, Robin (David)Spangler Rebold, and Tracy (Gregory) Hussar; grandchildren, Aaron (Erica) Hussar, Autumn (Torian) Starnes and Ashley (Bryan) Reed; and 11 great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2022, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home, 1125 Kenneth Ave. New Kensington, 724-337-3325. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 14, 2022, in the funeral home followed by burial with full military honor in Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum.
