Benjamin J. Krason, 74, of Allegheny Township, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, in UPMC St. Margaret Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 24, 1950, in New Kensington, to the late Clara and Marianus Woytko Krason. Ben was a graduate of Ken High and was an Army Veteran, serving during Vietnam. Ben worked for Glenn Buick in New Kensington, Falos in Murrysville, and then for Gali Beer Distribution, New Kensington, as the head mechanic, retiring in 2015. He was a Free Mason with the Pollock Lodge No. 502 Masonic Temple, Tarentum, and was a previous member of the American Legion Post 868, and the VFW Post 92, both in Lower Burrell. Ben enjoyed working on vehicles, tinkering in his garage, fishing with his grandsons, flea marketing with his son, playing the lottery, loved his family, especially his wife, and adored his daughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Patricia A. Hazlett Krason, who passed in October of 2017. Ben is survived by his children, John Krason and Kelly Krason-Morford; siblings, Patricia (Leonard) Bradley, Edward (Robin) Krason and Richard (Joan) Krason; grandsons, Benjamin "Ben" and Nicholas "Nick" Krason; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 PM, on Sunday, September 29, 2024, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. The Free Masons from the Pollock Lodge No. 502 Masonic Temple will conduct a service at 7:00 PM, in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 30, 2024, in the funeral home with Rev. Dean Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights, with full military honors.
