Barry James Gay, 67, of New Kensington, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Jan. 28, 1954, in Natrona Heights, to the late James P. and Bette Thimons Gay. Barry was a 1973 graduate of Burrell High School and was employed as a cabinet maker for Kenton Kitchens for 44 years. He was a life member of the 7th Street Sportsmen's Club, New Kensington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James R. Gay. Barry is survived by his best friend, Pamela Zelazowski; children, Chad Gay, Corey (Michelle) Gay and Cristen (Matt) Meerdo; brother, Jerry (Judy) Garvey; sister, Donna (James) Prager; sister-in-law, Jamie Gay; grandchildren, Jordin, Bailee Walker, Leah Meerdo, Hailee, Ryan and Hayden Gay; and great-grandson, Colt Walker, and his mother, Amber Walker. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2021, in the JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. The 7th Street Sportsmen's Club will hold a service in memory of Barry at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The funeral service, which will be officiated by Pastor Josiah Schweinberg, and burial at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, will be private.
