Anthony L. "Tony" Gelorme, 74, of Springdale Twp., passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in his home. He was born October 15, 1947, in New Kensington to the late Harry & Rachel Isola Gelorme. Tony was a 1965 graduate of the former Ken-Hi who then attended New Kensington Commercial School and then graduated from Indiana Northern College with a degree in business. He was an Administrator for the Army Reserves for 35 years. Tony was a member of Mount St. Peter Church, New Kensington, served on the board of the Alle-Kiski Postal Credit Union, New Kensington, and was a lifetime member of the Arnold Lions Club, starting his membership in 1972. He held every position possible with the Lions including King Lion (several times), secretary, treasurer, membership committee, and was honored with the highest award for service and outstanding Lionism, the Melvin Jones Fellows Award. In 1988, Tony also instituted the giving of food baskets at Christmas every year by the Lions to Arnold families in need.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Gelorme. Tony is survived by hi wife of 44 years, Betty Zatko Gelorme; brother, Harry (Carol) Gelorme; and nephews, Daniel & Steven Gelorme.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 9:00 PM on Thursday, January 27, 2022, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. The Arnold Lions Club will hold a service at 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Parting prayers will be held at 9:30 AM, Friday, January 28, 2022, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Mount St. Peter Church, New Kensington. Private entombment will be in Deer Creek Cemetery, Cheswick.
