Obituary

Angeline Marie D'Argenzio Martino, 90, of West Deer Township, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023, in UPMC St. Margaret Hospital. She was born January 18, 1933, in Arnold, to the late Joseph & Berdine Chipoletti D'Argenzio. Angeline was a 1950 graduate of Arnold High School and remained lifelong friends with her classmates, attending monthly luncheons with them. After marrying, she moved to West Deer Township, where she lived for 64 years till her passing. Angeline continued to have a big presence in her hometown, where she was a lifetime member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. At the Church, she was a member of the Addolorato Society, worked in the kitchen, helped with the food bank, and cooked and helped with the Festa, which was one of her favorite events. Along with her husband, Angeline was active in the Democratic party of Allegheny County. Until recently, she participated in the Silver Sneakers at the YMCA. Family was extremely important to Angeline, especially her sisters and nieces, that she spoke to almost daily, and passed on many important family traditions to them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mario C. Martino; and her brother, Peter (Sandra) D'Argenzio; brother-in-law, Donald Max; and great nephew, Chris Kudika.

Angeline is survived by her son, Chris (Darnell) Martino; sisters, Rosemary Max and Laurene (Larry) Corrigan; nieces, Deborah (Mark) Connolly, Diane (Phillip) Merdinger, Lisa (Doug) Gatsby, Stephanie (Michael) Black, Kara D'Argenzio, Leslie Max(also God Daughter), Tiffany (Tony) Folari, Jennifer (Blair) Peterson, Kathleen (William) Wachter, and Arlene Allison; nephews, John Max, Brian (Michelle) Jones and Derrek (Lorena) Jones; great nieces, Katie (Eric) Patel, Allie Merdinger, Laurel Krick, Faith Folari, Maxine and Maya Peterson, Olivia Jones, Samantha Jones, and Regina (Patrick) Brannen; great nephews, Peter Connolly, Andrew (Ali) Merdinger, Brad (Monah) Kudika, Stephen and Justin Black, Keegan Krick, Eden, Forest and Stone Folari, Maclean Peterson, and Aiden and Matthew Jones; great-great nieces, Ellie Merdinger, Emilia, Celeste Angeline(name sake of Angeline), Stella and Avalina Brannen; great-great nephews, Isaac Merdinger and Dean Brannen (also God Son).

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 10, 2023, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. Prayer of Transfer will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 11, 2023, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Mt. St. Peter Church, New Kensington.
