Walter Joseph Nowatkoski, 75, of New Kensington, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the VAMC, Oakland. He was born December 7, 1948, in West Leechburg, to the late Stanley & Helen Zedina Nowatkoski. Walter was in the US Army serving in the Vietnam war. He enjoyed being outside, especially in the summertime and was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins Fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor (Joe) Cannella. Walter is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen Caripolti Nowatkoski; daughters, Rachel (Dave) Russell and Nicole (Clint Skillen) Nowatkoski; grandchildren, Natalie (Steven Kostie) George, and Andrew & Ethan Russell; brother, Bernard (Katherine) Nowatkoski; sisters, Joann Kostuk, Bernice (Edward) Drahos and Theresa (William) Aul; and numerous nieces and nephews.
